Why are handmade dice so expensive?

Handmade dice are crafted individually using high-quality materials, often resin or other specialty mediums. Each set takes hours of work, from casting and sanding to inking and polishing. You're not just buying dice, you're investing in miniature pieces of art, made with care and attention to detail.

Every set has care, love and attention put into it to ensure I am providing a fantastic product that you would be happy to take to your gaming table.

How balanced are your dice?

We strive to make our dice as balanced as possible for casual play. However, due to the artistic nature of handmade dice — including inclusions, pigments and layering techniques — they may not meet casino-grade standards. That said, any variation is generally negligible for tabletop roleplaying games.

For home games, ours are beautiful and fair enough to roll with confidence. However, if you are concerned, I would recommend checking with your DM first.

What are inclusions, and do they affect dice performance?

Inclusions are small decorative elements embedded within the dice, like glitter, foil, or tiny objects. We position them carefully to maintain balance as much as possible, but some heavier inclusions may slightly affect weight distribution. This is negligible for home play, but it adds a lot of visual flair.

Do you take commissions? How does it work?

Yes, we absolutely do! Commissioning a custom set of handmade dice is a great way to get something truly personal and one-of-a-kind for your character, campaign, or collection, or a perfect gift for the nerd of the family.

Commission Pricing

Custom commissions start at $140 NZD per full 7-dice polyhedral set (D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, and percentile D10).
Prices can vary depending on the complexity of the design, the type of inclusions used, or if you'd like extra dice (like additional D6s for a fireball or rogue, or multiple D20s for advantage sets).

Timeframe

Depending on the queue and complexity, commissions usually take 3–5 weeks from start to finish. If we’re experiencing a high volume of orders, we’ll let you know an estimated start date.

Can I request a matching single die or extras?

Yes! We can create matching single dice (like an extra D20 or D6) for an additional cost. Just let us know during the design convo, and we’ll quote accordingly.
